At yesterday's extending reading I was start to read the fourth chapter of Freakconomics, and I felt it is filled with a lot of facts which is conflictive and contratry.
This chapter take parenting experts as a example: they usually choice to bold rather than restraining in order to catch your eyes. By using the fearmongering strategy, these experts seems to help parents doing the wrong decisions. The book provides so many comparable groups: guns and swimming pools; mad-coe disease and a common pathogen; and flying and driving. But fear can manipulate human emotion very well, therefore, most experts rely on it.
Not only how parents could bring up their children appropriately, but also how much do parents really matter has been asked in this chapter. For answering this radical question, the author reveal so many facts and data which reveal the shocking truth: parents matter just simply due to people hope it so.

Foxdale Reaction Post
This trip, in my personal view, is not the favorite optionfor me. Becasuse I don't have my interest in it, so I prefer to go to the local wilds and enjoy natrual environment. But it doesn't mean that I would like to underestimate the whole value of this trip. Surprisingly, I have met a good man, Mr. Oliver C. Goodman, who has told me something so interesting and meaningful.
It's amazing to have a conversation with Mr Goodman. He is a traditional American who alwyas keep manifesting and sticking to core value; family, honesty, hard working, and optimism. Moreover, he is in an excellent condition at both mental and physical health. When I asked how he keep fit and balance at this age, he told me that people have to keep your mind open and your soul happy. Well, I assumed that it's a easy task but he said," No, young man, there always have some tough days, and you're simply feel no hope." Swimming is a good advise for unhappy people, as he said, phycical exercise can improve your mental status, and, happy soul will provent your fresh away from sickness.
I think it's good approach to know about real America life. Indeed, any language student would benefit from this activity and enhance his or her capability of language.

Ex-Reading: Freakonomics #5
For me, the "women's right advocates, for instance, have hyped the incidence of sexual assault, claiming that one in three American women will in their life-time be a victim of rape or attempted rape." (Page 92, para.1, line 3-6 ).
I would like to explain that is, by exaggerating the real situation; modifying the data, hiding the premise, someone lied to public. And by modifying the statistical data in order to support their political purpose is an abuse to victims.
Also the law enforcement, out of my expectation, do the same thing: "the media eagerly glommed on to this story, portraying crack dealing as one of the most profitable jods in America." (Page 93, para. 1, line 2), but the truth is not as simple as what we used to thought. Is it a lucrative business? Oh, yes, its organizing chart have no so much differences from the one of McDonald's. But the most profitable one? The author wouldn't buy this story. So, maybe the dramatic, luxury life of a drug dealer never exist beyond the imagination.

EXtending Reading of of Freakonomics: 4
As what I read at monday, the author Freakonomics indicates that how the experts undermine the comsumers by information asymmetry and how Internet profoundly changed this situation. This is my most moved section in this reading, therefore, I felt angry. I have been filled with indignation so much that I hardly couldn't continue my rest of reading in the classroom.
My family has a horrible experience for the "good advises" from the expert. When I still was a college boy, my parents decided to set foot in potfolio investment, and hired a stock broker. This broker has a good reputation but excess expectation. At the middle of 2008, my father want to sell out all the stocks but this stock broker dissauded him said that my father will get more profits at the end of that year. Unfortunately, my Dad lose more a half of his invetyment at least. But this agent still took the commission as much as the comtract said, because an annual employment had already been complished.
However, if my father could known some Internet skills, such as how to searching the information about market quotation, which is right way to comparison the data, even how to find some independence comments, he would never make this mistake.
Now, my Dad always tell me " ask for more details about your business or profession, son." And I believe that's the real good advise.

Extend Reading Respond for Freakonomics 3: The Warrior and the dragon
Usually, I personally don't like a book which describe its hero as a super warrior who fight against a evil, giant dragon. But, I have to say that the chapter 2 of Freakonomics has already changed my mind. Kennedy, who was known by me as a legendary president of the United States, show some hidden historic characters in this chapter.
According to the regular pattern of Klan's history, it was relatively feeble when Kennedy has been enrolled. However, there still have many difficulties to overcome if a young inside man want to shake the reign, because the number of Klan's membership had reached its peak.
Kennedy was so smart that he finally found the Achilles' feet of the "evil dragon": some specific publishers. By leaking the secret password of program, the mystery organization started to lose its power and fallen into an irreversible decline. This is the influence from "power of information", which actually undermined the foundation of Klan.
The author also says the same mechanism affect the insurance business but I just haven't finish this chapter at all, I am just trying figure out how could the internet changed the information asymmetry. And I will post my new progress if I read what is the reason the author say so.

Ex-Reading: Freakonomics 2
There are so many exciting details has appeared when I finished my chapter one. The author was trying to tell us we are blind and obstinate, especially at the things we have already know. For example: blood donation. I had so many chances to donate my blood in my own country but I just simply ignored it. Because they usually offer you some foods such as cookies and gifts after after your donation. I don't like that, the more annoying thing is they force you to fill the papers, but only thing I want to have is the souvenir, some tiny, funny stuff. In my opinion, gifts are money, and I don't sell my blood for money.
For most of us, moral incentive has much powerful influence than money at the public activities. For the state affairs and politics, it's a diffenrent situation. Current economy profits has became the most essential ingredient of our political system, so every group work for their benefits but they also usually deny it. Politicians are good at disguising, on the other hand, civilians are good avoid moral damage.
Freakonomics is a book which tells some stories about how the real motives and reasons has been covered and how we been distracted. It is very excellent reading experience to me! I am keep going to connect the book and my real life
